Asiea Naqash for strengthening of emergency services, sanitation, security in Government hospitals

Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Housing & Urban Development, Asiea Naqash, today said there is need for strengthening of Emergency services, sanitation and security in Government hospitals to provide better health facilities to people.The Minister was speaking at a high-level meeting convened to review the overall functioning of the Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department.The meeting discussed various issues, including procurement of drugs through J&K Medical Supplies Corporation and availability of funds under the JSSK/JSY scheme.The Minister was appraised about district-wise progress and achievements of the H&ME Department, Family Welfare and JK AIDS Control Society during the last financial year.Asiea directed the HoDs of medical institutions to submit re-acquisition to the J&K Medical Supplies Corporation within a week and called on the Corporation to work with dedication to make medical supplies available on time.The Minister directed the concerned to get ready with Action Plan for the FY 2017-18 and stressed on proper utilization of the Hospital Development Fund.

She also directed for taking measures to get rid of over-crowded atmospheres in Hospital so that doctors could provide hassle free services to the patients.The Minster directed for making emergency drugs easily available and uploading details regarding the availability if emergency drug on departments website. Asiea also gave a nod to establishment of district level Hemophilia societies for proper distribution of drugs to the Hemophilia patients.Later, the Minster visited different Simulation Units of KSSC, RIHFW and stressed on encouraging such trainings so as to upgrade the skills of the Health personnel working in different capacities in the Department.In his maiden meeting, Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, assured of his support for better implementation of healthcare programmes.He also directed the concerned to draw Flood Level Mark in every hospital so that proper measures are taken during flood situations to save the hospital records and for safe guard of patients.Director Health Services, MD NHM, Director JK AIDS Control Society, Director Family Welfare/JKSACS, Medical Superintendents from various medical institutes, CM’s from all district of Kashmir division and officials from various other departments attended the meeting.
