Affiliation of Private Technical Educational Institutes not fulfilling the set standards to be cancelled : Charanjit Singh Channi

Provide Quality Education or face action, Technical Education Minster gives a clear cut message to Private Institutes

The Punjab Government will not tolerate any laxity in providing quality technical education by the private technical educational institutes. No compromise or relaxation would be granted to any private technical educational institute in providing technical education. Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi Punjab Technical Education Minister gave this clear cut signal during a meeting with the representatives of Unaided Technical Education Institutes.Punjab Technical Education Minister said that no private technical education institute would be allowed to play with the future of students and the institutes have to meet all the standards set by the AICTE and Punjab government otherwise they will have to face action. He further said that the senior government officials would regularly check the private technical educational institutes and if irregularities found the affiliation of such institutes would be cancelled with immediate effect . “If checking officials fails to perform their duty honestly and upto mark strict action would be taken against them”, he added. 

Mr. Channi also directed to install bio-metric attendance system to stop fake admissions in the private technical educational institutes and these would be further linked with the technical education department online. The Minister made clear that all admissions in technical education institutes would be online and no late admissions would be allowed. He further added that no institute would be allowed to fill more seats then the allotted quota.Mr. Channi stressed on providing providing quality education rather commercializing education system and asked the technical educational institutes to follow the guidelines of UGC & AICTE in recruiting teaching staff. The Minister further said that strict action would be taken against the institutes not providing SC Scholarship to the real beneficiaries. He also said that if any institute found guilty in copying, the concerned examination centre would be cancelled. Mr. Channi said that soon a joint advisory committee of representatives private technical educational institutes and government representatives would be formed to uplift the standard of education in the state. He also announced to hold joint job fairs in collaboration with the private firms and institutes.
