Syed Ali Geelani concerns over deteriorating health condition of Rustum Bhat

Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday expressed grave concern about the reported worsening health conditions of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mohammad Rustum Bhat and said doctors attending has advised him for surgery, however neither he is being provided specific treatment nor released from detention.Geelani in his statement issued to KNS condemned authorities and said Muslim League leader, Ab Ahad Para is being subjected to vengeance and instead of lodging him in local police station, is lodged in Nowgam a border area.Demanding immediate release of Masarat Alam Bhat, Ameer Hamza shah, Mohammad Yusuf Lone, Mir Hafiz Ullah, Ab Khaliq Bhat, Ab Subhan Wani, Mohammad Yusuf Falahi, Mohammad Shaban Dar, Bashir Ahmad Qureshi, Raies Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Yusuf Bhat, Gh Mohammad Khan Sopore, Geelani said that continues curbs on political activities are leading to political uncertainty in state.

Meanwhile, spokesman said that Mohamad Rustum Bhat was arrested in year 2016 during peoples uprising and shifted to Udhampur jail. “Court bailed out him from all cases, however he was rearrested soon he was released from jail and lodged for months in police stations,” said spokesman.Spokesman said that Rustum Bhat after diagnosis of abdominal ailment was suggested surgery, however neither he is being admitted in hospital nor released from jail.Hurriyat (G) warned authorities and said that if anything untoward happens to ailing activist, the administration will be held responsible.Hurriyat in its statement urged authorities to release Ab Ahad Para and said that “instead of court orders he is not being released from jail. It is unjustified and there is no legal or moral justification for his continuous detention.”Hurriyat (G) chairman expressed his concern and anguish over the silence maintained by international organizations and said they are not taking any serious note of this lawlessness.He impressed human rights organizations including ICRC for their cognizance and urged to use their influence for release of detained leaders and activists.
