Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal today held congress party responsible for misleading the masses on the fiscal health of Punjab whereas Punjab has undergone unprecedented uninterrupted growth in every sphere for the last seven years and the financial health of the state was strong enough to stand on its own.Addressing a mammoth gathering while laying the foundation stones of various development projects worth Rs. 227 Crore in district Faridkot, Mr. Badal cautioned the people of the state against the anti people stance of the scam ridden Congress led UPA government who were bent upon uttering the irrelevant statements merely misleading the state on many fronts. Instead of commenting on Punjab they should focus on the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities, diesel, agriculture inputs etc because of the wrong policies of the government. On the other hand Punjab has envisaged and implemented a number of welfare schemes keeping in mind every segment of the society. On one hand the Punjab government has announced subsidized power to the farmers and on the other hand announced 1 Kg. Wheat at Re. 1 for the economically weaker sections under Atta Dal Scheme already launched in the state. As many as 30 Lakh beneficiaries would be covered under this scheme, he added.
Referring to the unprecedented and uninterrupted development in the state for the last 7 years, Mr. Badal said that Punjab has become the first Power Surplus sate in India because of the Rs. 40 thousand crore investments brought in due to the excellent economic policies in the state. Punjab was the first state to have offered free power to its farmers. Giving details of the schemes exclusively launched for the traders in the state, Mr. Badal said that the state has been virtually taken a lead in getting rid of the “Inspectory Raj” and the traders have also been given the insurance cards under this scheme. The road networks were also being strengthened in the state with a cost of 15 thousand crores. All the roads would be widened and made four laned and six laned. Mr. Badal also called upon the people to give a befitting reply to the congress party for ruining the country by electing Narender Modi led NDA party so that the pace of development works multiplied manifolds. On the occasion Mr. Badal laid the foundation stones of the sewerage system projects worth Rs. 34.45 Crore for Jaiton, 90.43 Crore for Kotkapura and 74.09 Crore for Faridkot . Besides this he also laid the foundation stones for projects worth 15.66 Crore Raja Minor at Faridkot, Bus stand worth Rs. 6 crores at Faridkot and a Neo Natal hospital worth 5.50 Crore at Kotkapura.Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Member Parliament Bibi Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mantar Brar, MLA Deep Malhotra, S. Avtar Singh Brar, Chairman PRTC and all the workers and prominent leaders of SAD-BJP.
