‘No Compromise With Quality & Specifications Of Work Will Be Tolerated’

Tript Bajwa gives clear cut message to Water Supply & Sanitation officials

Punjab Water Supply & Sanitation Minister Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa has given a stern message to the officials of the department that no compromise with regard to the quality and specifications of work will be tolerated at any level as the department is directly connected with the health of the people.Presiding over a first review meeting of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department here today at Kisan Bhawan, Mr. Tript Bajwa said that any official indulging in malpractices and corruption would be dealt with severely.  ‘Anyone found misusing my name for taking favors will also not be spared, added the Minister. The Minister further said that providing clean and safe drinking water to the people is the biggest philanthropy therefore no comprise should be made on that count. He said that public money and grants should be utilized properly to provide best quality services. The Minister further ordered the officials that the Department will itself provide water supply services from the newly constructed Water tanks for the first six months before handing over control to the Panchayats. 

Mr. Tript Bajwa said that all projects must be completed in a timebound manner and no laxity or excuses would be tolerated. He said that grants should be used in a transparent manner to provide best infrastructure and services of the highest order. He also exhorted the officials to discharge their duties as Public servant without any discrimination. Mr. Tript Bajwa while pointing out the shabby condition of Water tanks in village Kiri Afghana in District Gurdaspur and some other villages asked the Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation to inspect the Water Tanks of these villages and initiate appropriate action against officials responsible.Earlier Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sinha Secretary Water Supply & Sanitation briefed the Minister about the ongoing and future projects of the department.  Others prominent present in the meeting included Mr. B.S Rai HoD, Mr. D.K Bansal Chief Engineer, Mohamad Ishfaq Director Sanitation, SE’s and XEN’s of the department.
