CM lays foundation stones of developmental projects worth crores in Solan district

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said that providing best educational facilities to the youth of the State was top priority of the State Government and it was being ensured that they get quality education near to their homes. The schools and colleges and technical education institutions were being opened up in the State keeping in view the necessity of the students.The Chief Minister was speaking after laying foundation stone of Degree College Dharampur at Mandodhar to be constructed at a cost of Rs. five crore in Solan District today.He said that the previous BJP Government announced to open 15 colleges in their last six months in the State without making any budgetary provision and proper infrastructure. The Dharampur College was one of these which was started in two rooms of Block Primary Education Officer’s building at Dharampur. He said that the present Government had announced 15 colleges in the State with a provision of Rs. five crore for each college and more funds would be released as per the requirement. 

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Leprosy Sanatorium, Mandodhar would be maintained by the Government and it would be ensured that the lepers were properly rehabilitated there. Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Lift Drinking Water Supply Scheme for Chandi area to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 21.69 crore. The scheme would benefit 15805 habitants of 201 villages of the area. He laid foundation stone of ITI building, Kuthar to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 370 lakh and Kuthar School building to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 161.88 lakh and PHC (level-2) building Kuthar to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 42.48 lakh.Later, Chief Minister inaugurated Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Solan building constructed at a cost of Rs. 108.21 lakh, new block of Zonal Hospital Solan constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.23 crore and laid foundation stones of seven storied Mini Secretariat building at Solan to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 24.47 crore and Circuit House Solan to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.45 crore. 

Chief Minister also inaugurated Kandaghat-Chausha via Kwarag road constructed at a cost of Rs. 93.32 lakh and Kandaghat-Mahi road constructed at a cost of Rs. 62.31 lakh. He laid foundation stone of Polytechnic College (Girls) Hostel Kangadhat to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 225.51 lakh.Food & Civil Supplies Minister Shri G.S Bali, Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Chairman, H.P Buildings and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Bawa Hardeep Singh, District Congress President Shri Rahul Thakur, Chairman APMC Shri Ramesh Thakur, Vice Chairman, Small Savings, Shri Prakash Karad, General Secretary PCC, Shri Vinod Sultanpuri, Member, PCC, Shri Ramesh Chauhan, Member BoD Tourism Shri Surender Sethi, Member BoD H.P. Pollution Control Board, Shri Arvind Gupta were also present on the occasion.
