Vigilance produces chargesheet against Block Medical Officer

On the allegations of illegal appointments of Class–IV employees i.e, Nursing Orderlies/Safaiwalas by Dr. Mumtaz Hussain Shah then BMO Surankote (now retired) and others, vigilance organization registered a formal case i.e, FIR No. 15/2015 u/s 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption  Act, 2006 and Section 120-B RPC at P/S VOJ on 20/03/2015.Detailed investigations by the vigilance organization into the matter proved the  allegations of corruption charges against Dr. Mumtaz Hussain Shah, then BMO Surankote and Abdul Qayoom Jr.Assistant Sub District Hospital Surankote, who by abuse of their official positions with ulterior motives in order to give undue benefits to accused private beneficiaries residing in Surankote area of Poonch  district,  namely Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Sh. Samad Joo R/O Lathoong; Qadir Ahmed S/O Mohd. Rashid R/O Gunthal; Kabir Ahmed S/O Khurshid Ahmed R/O Sanai; Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Aziz-ud-Din R/O Lathoong; Tahira Parveen W/O Mushtaq Ahmed R/O Buffliaz; and Niaz Ahmed S/O Nazir Hussain R/O Sanai, issued illegal appointment orders  without providing equal opportunity and inducing competition by advertising the said posts and bypassing all other rules/procedures required for the transparent selection process. After establishment of charges of corruption against public servants and   criminal conspiracy with accused private beneficiaries, Vigilance Organization produced chargesheet against then BMO, Jr Assistant and 06 other accused private persons before the Anti-Corruption Court Rajouri on April 6 this month.
