JK Tourism to hold mega events to attract tourists

In an effort to boost the tourism Industry the JK Tourism is organising mega national and international events which will benefit in promoting the State as preferred destination for year 2017.The Secretary Tourism and Floriculture Farooq Ahmad Shah while giving the details confirmed that this year will be the year of festivals and events which started by the Tulip festival under the theme of Bahar-e-Kashmir followed by the cycle racing, art and painting competition and now an international Urdu poetry event Aalmi Mushaira which has international participation from UAE, Tajikistan, Nepal, Egypt and other countries this poetry event will have the world renowned poets of our country like Rahat Indoori and Munawar Raina as well who will deliver their latest poem along with other 25 famous poets on the banks of beautiful Dal Lake in the bottom of Zabbarwan hills amid tulips this event will be telecast live by Etv all channels.The Secretary added that on 15th April first ever in April skiing event will be organised in Gulmarg in which more than 100 skiers will participate to showcase the potential of Gulmarg ski slopes even in the month of April, on 16th of April a mega Golf event will be organised at RSGC which will attract 300 Golfers from across the country who will play on the beautifully laid greens of international golf course RSGC.The Secretary added that this year will be the year of events and festivals across the state to attract the domestic and international tourists from all over the globe under the slogan of visit Jammu Kashmir.
