Governor emphasizes to co-relate science with religion

Governor Acharya Devvrat has emphasized to co-relate science with religion and said that scientific development should be achieved with religious believes and our Nation had already reached it to that level in the past.The Governor was presided over the Vidyarthi  Vigyan Manthan-2016-17 programme organized by Vigyan Bharti at CSK Agriculture University, Palampur in Kangra district, today.He said that success and failure were the part of life and we should not demoralize from failure and work hard to achieve the target in the life. He added that we had a rich past and a great history but unfortunately, our history had been destroyed in an organized way by the foreign invaders. He said that there was time it was called as "Sone ki Chirya" and "Vishwa Guru" and basic concepts of mathematics and science emerged from this great country.The Governor advised the young scientists to reach upto that level and urged them to serve your motherland and not to go abroad for sake of money. He congratulated the qualified students and hoped that they would prove their worth at national level also. He also congratulated the organizers to promote scientific temperament among young generation.

The Governor also gave away the prizes to the students, who got selected in state level. Speaking on the occasion Member of Parliament Shri Shanta Kumar, said that science and technology was important aspects to move ahead in the world and this programme was organized with the motive to increase the knowledge of science among youth of the country. He congratulated the organizers for initiating such event and also congratulated the students participated in the competition.He said that old generation has great expectation from new one and hoped that youth of the country would fulfill the expectation of their seniors and built a strong and prosperous nation. He expressed concern over tension taken by the students in every field and said that it was perhaps due to over ambition and competition. Youth should be given the message of 'Gita', he added and said that prudence was important for science, otherwise it became curse. He said that it was the responsibility of the educational institutions, teachers and parents to know that how much we should adopt modern technology.Dr. Ashok Saryal, Vice Chancellor Agriculture University Palampur welcomed and honoured the Governor and said that Vigyan Bharti was preparing future scientist of the country and their initiatives were laudable. He said that the University was dedicated in producing expertise in agriculture sector and from its creation to till date more than 6000 students passed out from the university and were serving the society in various capacity.

He said that agriculture production of the state has increased during the past years. He added that the university was moving towards zero budget natural farming and efforts were being made to deal with all the challenges in agriculture and animal husbandry. Prof. Shashi Kumar, Convener, Vigyan Bharti, HP welcomed the Governor and briefed out the activities of Vigyan Bharti on the occasion. He said that concerted efforts were being made by Vigyan Bharti to promote scientific temperament among students through its different activities.Prof. Arvind Ranade, Scientist, Science & Technology, Government of India briefed about Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan and said that 120 students of the state took part in examination and hoped that the students from the state would also got selected at National Level examination of Vigyan Bharti.Prof. Jagtar Singh from Agriculture University, Palampur also welcomed the Governor and other dignitaries on the occasion.Deputy Commissioner, Kangra Shri C.P Verma, Superintendent of Police Shri Sanjeev Gandhi and other senior officers of the district and teaching and non-teaching staff of the university, students and their parents and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
