On the instruction of APHC Chairman and head of Awami Action Committee (AAC), Mirwaiz Dr Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest, a delegation of AAC led by its senior member Abdul Salaam Khanday visited the residence of martyr Tawseef Ahmad Wagay at Kulgam and to pay rich tributes to him and express solidarity on behalf of the organization and the chairman APHC with the family members of the martyr. On the occasion, Mirwaiz, whose social political and religious activities have been restricted by the government, talked to the bereaved family members through telephone. Assuring them that sacrifice of martyr Tawseef and thousands of others will not go in vain, APHC Chairman said the Kashmiri nation and the resistance leadership would take the mission of martyrs forward at any cost till it reaches its logical conclusion. While offering special prayers for the martyr, Mirwaiz consoled with the bereaved family members and asked them to be patient in these testing times.

Meanwhile condemning the house arrest of APHC Chairman and arrest and house arrest of other resistance leaders and scores of youth across Kashmir to conduct the so called sham elections, AAC said that the pro-Indian politicians in Kashmir were opportunistic and can stoop to any level to keep their hold on power. The party said, however, the freedom loving people of Kashmir are now well aware of the machinations of the pro-Indian politicians and was not going to be tricked by the fake promises.Terming the house arrest of Mirwaiz as usurping his political and religious rights, the AAC stated that the government was scared of the towering political personality of Mirwaiz. The AAC said it was highly regretful and condemnable that despite being the chief cleric of Kashmir, Mirwaiz was being restricted from discharging his religious duties. The AAC also denounced the house arrest of Syed Ali Geelani, Muhamamd Yaseen Malik, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Advocate Shahidul Islam, Farooq Ahmad Saudagar, Abdul Rashid Tanki and other hurriyat activists and workers across the valley. AAC said the arrest and house arrest of resistance leadership and youth was a failed attempt to being carried out to weaken their resolve towards freedom struggle.Meanwhile, AAC has strongly condemned the killing of Kashmiris in Chadoora and Padgmapora gun battles on pretext of combating insurgency.
