The MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party and Lok Insaaf Party on Monday walked out of Punjab Vidhan Sabha opposing the Congress government’s denial to debate the Governor’s address and postponing it to the next session. Addressing the media outside Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Leader of opposition, Adv. H.S. Phoolka along with other AAP MLAs and Lok Insaaf Party’s Bains brothers said that the government has murdered the democracy by not assigning even a single minute to the elected representatives to raise the issues of public concern in vidhan sabha.Phoolka said that it was mentioned in the copies of schedule distributed to the members on Friday that debate on Governor’s address under vote of thanks held at 2 PM on March 28 but the whole schedule was changed in morning today. He said that there was no mention of debate in the revised schedule and the debate was postponed till the next session. The leader of opposition in vidhan sabha said that the defense of Congress that the debate was even not held in 2002 when Congress came to power is a lame excuse and does not carry any democratic and constitutional point.

He said that it can be vulnerability of then opposition party SAD that it did not raise the voice against the unconstitutional step but AAP and Lok Insaaf Party will oppose it this time.Phoolka said that the main reason behind the cancelation of vote of thanks was that congress government has no answer for the questions to be raised by the opposition and it preferred to run away from it. He said that AAP seek reply from the government over the issue of government filing application in the court to scrap the case of a liquor paddler who was nabbed by the police on the directions of Elections Commission during elections in Bathinda for illegally carrying 1,25000 liquor bottles . He said that court had earlier denied bail to him and sent him to jail but Congress government is shielding the drug paddlers after assuming the power.Phoolka said that Congress government feared that AAP will ask about the unconstitutional appointments of 13 OSDs and giving ministerial ranks to 5 of them so the voice of opposition was curbed. He said that the issue of gunda tax business in sand businesss shifted from SAD to Congress leaders was again the tough task to answer in the vidan sabha.
