Deputy Chief Minister Orders Enquiry Into Issuance Of Armed Licence And Passport Verification Report Of Namdhari

Principal Secretary (Home) To Submit Enquiry Within A Fortnight

Taking cognizance of media reports regarding the issuance of armed license and verification for issuance of passport to the Sukhdev Singh Namdhari, an accussed in the murder of Chadha brothers, the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, who also holds the portfolio of Home affairs, has ordered an enquiry to be conducted by the Principal Secretary (Home) Mr DS Bains to probe into the entire matter to get at the bottom of this case. 

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Deputy Chief Minister has asked the Principal Secretary Home to submit the enquiry report positively within a fortnight so as to prevent the issuance of armed licenses and fake verifications of the unscrupulous and anti-social elements. He also directed the Principal Secretary (Home) to also suggest concrete measures to check the reoccurrence of such lapses on the part of state administration.
