JKSWDC holds ‘Mega Awareness Camp-cum-Loan Mela’ at Kupwara

In an endeavor to sensitize women beneficiaries about the benefits of the schemes being implemented by Jammu and Kashmir State Women's Development Corporation, a Mega Awareness Camp-cum-Loan Mela was organized today at Town Hall Kupwara sponsored by National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.Around 900 women beneficiaries participated in the camp amongst whom loan application forms as well as pamphlets were distributed. The camp was inaugurated by Bashir Ahmad Dar, MLA Kupwara as Chief Guest, while as Managing Director; JKWDC was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, MLA appreciated the efforts of JKSWDC for conducting such a big camp in the area and asked the participants to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of WDC.Managing Director, Women's Development Corporation, Dr Naheed Soz in her welcome address highlighted various activities and achievements of women's Development Corporation which has immensely contributed towards the empowerment of the women. She laid thrust on the importance of Jute activity and its market availability and requested the gathering to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of WDC for their self reliance.In addition to the schemes, Managing Director also threw light on the issues related to the rights of women, health, nutrition, Female feticide, Beti Bachao Beti Padeao domestic violation and Swachh Bharat Abiyan and skill development etc.The camp was attended by the Abdul Rehman Development Officer, JKWDC, Bashir Ahmad, District Officer, SC/ST &OBC Dev Corporation, Gul Muhammad District Officer JKEDI, Muhammad Ayoub CDPO Kupwara, Muhammad Ghulam Nabi, CDPO Kralpora Kupwara who also made these beneficiaries aware about the Welfare programmes being implemented by these respective departments.
