National Program on Bovine Breeding aimed at enhancing milk production - Devender Chaudhry

Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Punjab Department today held a meeting to review the progress made under National Program on Bovine Breeding  and Rashtriya Gokul Mission of Northern States .This meeting was presided over by Mr. Devender Chaudhry Secretary Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development, Government Of India.  On this occasion, Mr. Davinder Chaoudhry said that N.P.B.B. program is aimed at enhancing per animal production of milk. Under this program unique identification numbers are given to the milching animals and would be recorded in a special directory. The sale-purchase of Murrah, Nili Ravi, H.F. and Jersey breeds would be an easy affair with this. The meeting also deliberated marketing of special localized breeds of Northern India under National Gokul Mission.On the occasion, various cattle breeders demanded that the facility till now being given to only the registered breeders also be extended to the self-help groups established by other cattle breeders. To this, Mr. Chaudhry said that the Dairy Development department would be the nodal agency for the cases pertaining to self-help groups.On the occasion, Statistical Advisor Pardeep Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Dairy Development) Mandeep Singh Sandhu, Director Animal Husbandry Punjab H.S. Sandha, Director Animal Husbandry from Haryana G.S. Jakhar, Director Dairy Development Inderjit Singh, Prof. P.K. Uppal and others senior officers were also present.
