Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Gani Kohli today said the Government has launched a massive road connectivity programme in the state under different schemes to unlock the huge economic potential in rural areas.Minister said this while laying foundation stone of a 3-kiomteres long road from Jarota Gala to Pata Khetar in Rajouri at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore under state sector. The road will connect thousands of souls of the twin villages thereby   fulfilling long pending demand of the locals.A large gathering of locals, earlier, welcomed the Minister in their village and thanked the government for fulfilling their long pending demand.Speaking on the occasion, minister said the government has launched extensive road connectivity programme in state to drive the economic growth by connecting the villages which is the basic requirement for the development of the state. He said better road connectivity is correlated with economic development as it promotes access to economic and social services.

Minister asserted that better road connectivity is pivotal for bringing speedy socio-economic transformation in the state and described the R&B department as a core sector for people that lends support and boosts activities of other departments meant for people’s welfare and state's overall development The Minister said lack of road connectivity is one of the major infrastructural deficiencies in the remote districts and said improvement in connectivity will help increase government out-reach to people living in remote areas, adding that availability of services would help in enhancing agricultural incomes and employment opportunities.He said government is committed for uniform development of all the regions of the state with focus on the road connectivity of rural areas. He said the development of rural area guarantees the development of the state adding that stress is being laid on the development of rural areas.Enjoining upon officers to work with utmost dedication and in coordinated manner, the Minister asked all concerned authorities to ensure that the works are completed within stipulated time frame. He further exhorted upon officers to ensure that no compromise are made on quality of materials being used during the execution process.
