Awareness programmes organized under ‘Noor Jeevan Ka - Betiyan’ awareness campaign

As a part of ‘Noor Jeevan Ka – Betiyan’, a series of awareness programmes were organized today by BBBP cell in collaboration with District Information Center, Udhampur under the theme ‘Importance of Hygiene in Adolescent girls’.At Sarar, Chenani, an awareness programme was organized by District Social Welfare Officer, Rachna Sharma, who is also the nodal officer of the said cell.Speaking on the occasion, the DSWO stressed upon the adolescent girls to maintain personal hygiene for a healthy living. She educated them about various schemes of the department envisaging socio-economic empowerment of girls.A cultural programme was also organized by Ram Ditta and party on the occasion.Similarly, an awareness camp was organized at Dudu in which Tehsildar Latti, BDO Latti, ZEPO Dudu, resource person from Health department educated the girls about their personal hygiene. Besides, they also highlighted various schemes of the government for welfare and development of Girl Child.

Besides, an awareness programme was organized under the theme ‘Domestic violence against women’ at Government Middle School, Mand.While addressing the gathering, the DSWO highlighted various schemes launched for welfare of girl child. She also told them about the ‘Local Complaint Committee’ constituted at District headquarter where the women can file their complaint against Domestic Violence.The common masses were also educated about the theme with the help of a cultural programme which was organized by the District Information Center, Udhampur.Deputy District Election Officer, Sapna Kotwal, BMO Tikri, CDPO Udhampur and other officials were also present on the occasion.Similar programme was organized at Basant Garh by SDM Basantgarh in which the women were educated about their legal rights and made aware about the various Government schemes.Meanwhile, awareness programmes were also organized under the campaign in all the Anganwadi centers and PHCs of the district.
