DDC chairs DLRC meeting, launches PLCP-2017-18

To review the performance of various banks, a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar during which Potential Linked Credit Plan( PLCP)-2017-18 under NABARD was released.The meeting was attended by officers of concerned Departments, LDM Kathua, DDM NABARD, and Cluster Heads of banks and financial institutions operating in district Kathua.The aim of PLCP was to encash potential available under various sectors in the district and its exploitation for enhancing ground level credit flow to priority sectors.The meeting reviewed the progress and achievements made by the banks in implementation of various Government sponsored schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Atal Pension Yojna,  Pradhan Mantra Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantra MUDRA Yojana, Pradhan Mantra Fasal Bima Yojana, NULM and Stand-Up India.It was also apprised in the meeting that under priority sector advances, the district has sanctioned Rs 859 Lacs which comprises 54.58% of total advances in the district. Against the national target of 10% the bank has achieved 13.83% under weaker section advances.Performance of banks in the areas of deposits and advances besides sector-wise performance under the District Credit Plan 2016-17 was also reviewed in the meeting.

On the occasion, the DDC said that banks and financial institutions in the district must play their role for the economic progress of Kathua. He emphasized that banks must be positive and instrumental in credit dispensation and increases the Credit Deposit Ratio (CDR) to the benchmark level fixed by the RBI.While reviewing the progress achieved in special Central/State sponsored schemes and under social security schemes, he directed the banks to expedite sanctioning of sponsorships.He stressed on making concerted efforts to increase the CD ratio, with maximum efforts on financing cases under MSME sector. He also asked the officials of banks and Government Departments to conduct awareness programmes about the schemes wherever required. He also laid emphasis for having proper coordination among departments and bankers and called for convening regular VLVC meeting for better reconciliation of data.Representative from RBI has apprised the meeting that three bank branchs will be opened shortly at Baggan, Forelane and Janglote.DDC also laid thrust on linkage of bank account with Aadhar and mobile numbers to encourage digital payments, also called for organizing financial literacy camps in across the district.
