Awareness on ‘Women and Cleanliness’ imparted under Noor Jiwan Ka – Betiyan

An awareness camp was organized on the topic ‘ Women and Cleanliness’ under the week long Noor -Jiwan Ka Betiyan programme being organized by the Beti Padhao Beti Padhao Cell, Udhampur (BBBP cell)  at Higher Secondary School , Jaganoo here today.Pertinently, Noor Jiwan Ka- Betiyan  is an important initiative taken  to create awareness about the various schemes launched by the Government for the welfare of the Girl Child and Women empowerment.

During the awareness camp, a symposium was organized on the topic in which large number of students participated and highlighted the importance of Cleanliness.Participants were also made aware through the skit presented by the Anganwadi workers of the ICDS department.Speaking on the occasion, the DSWO, Rachna Sharma emphasized on the importance of cleanliness and said that by keeping our body and our surroundings clean, we can prevent the outbreak of many diseases. She stressed upon the adolescent girls and women to take good care of their health and adopt safe hygienic practices.District Panchayat Officer, Sandeep Seointra laid focus on the scheme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and urged the students to participate in this awareness campaign. Saplings of some important trees were also planted by the present officers on the occasion.District Information Office organized a cultural programme in which the cultural troupe through the medium of their songs and dances generated awareness on the topic.Among others, PO- ICDS, Rakesh Badyal, PO-DRDA, Jagdish Chander Mehra, CEO Bishan Singh, Deputy CMO Santosh Sharma, teachers and large number of students were present.
