Div Com kick-starts plantation drive in Srinagar

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today launched the plantation drive by planting a tree at Floriculture Park, M A Road Srinagar.Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director Floriculture, Officials from Departments of Forest and Education, besides representatives NGO, Volunteers and other concerned were present on the occasion.After planting a Chinar sapling, the Divisional Commissioner said that on the directions of the Chief Minister, saplings are being planted in the parks and along the roadside in Srinagar City to beautify the city besides helping in maintaining ecological balance.The Div Com directed the concerned to conduct seminars in educational institutions to create awareness and generate enthusiasm for plantation drive.Deputy Commissioner Srinagar also planted a tree on this occasion.
