Minister asks students to participate in plantation drives to protect nature

Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh today stressed upon teachers and parents to ensure all round development of students besides providing them with a quality education.The Minister said this during a function, ‘Colors of Indian Culture’ organized by JK Public Higher Secondary School at Police Auditorium, Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy.Expressing concern over pressures put on children by their parents and teachers to achieve top scores, the Minister said that children should be given proper environment for their all round development so that they can excel in the field of their interest.he Minister also asked the students to divide their time wisely adding that time management is the best way to avoid stress.Citing the famous quote, ‘Sound mind in Sound body’, the Minister asked parents to inculcate good food habits in their children and ensure that they get proper diets. He also asked the parents and teachers to inculcate moral value in children.

The Minister speaking about rich resources and scenic beauty of the state, stressed upon teachers and students to launch and participate in plantation drives to do their part in preserving the ecosystem of the state.“Our state is one of the most beautiful states in the world, and has been endowed with great natural beauty and it is our duty to protect it”, the Minister asserted.A colorful cultural programme including regional dances from different states was presented by the students on the occasion.The Minister also felicitated students of the school who excelled in different fields like academics, sports etc and appreciated students for their performance in various cultural programmes.Among others, Chairman State Pollution Control Board Ravi Kesar, Managing Director State Forest Corporation S K Gupta, SSP SKPA Shiv Kumar, DFOs of different wings, ASP Udhampur besides Principal and teachers of the school were present on the occasion.
