Hurriyat calls DGP's statement irresponsible

Huriyat Conference while reacting to the statement of DG police, Mr S P Vaid, said it is an apparent threat against unarmed civilians. Huriyat termed statement as Irresponsible & said it illustrates their ill will & obviously proves their sponsored terrorism against peaceful civilians. Since last 28 years, the pro-freedom activists, families and their relatives are prime target for government forces, said Huriyat, however today official statement of DG proved that in a police state no rule of law exist & maintained that a high-ranking authority confirmed our claim. Thursday, Huriyat said that it is unjustified to involve families of confronting forces & blamed government forces for the brutalities against families of pro-freedom activists and said it is sheer highhandedness that for no reason they are making innocents as their soft target.“This is very unfortunate and disgusting that government forces while resorting to lawlessness raid and arrest the relatives of these activists. Huriyat said that during this the government forces ransack their properties and there are sufficient instances when many of those arrested were even assassinated.Huriyat spokesman while reminding DG police about the killing of brother of Burhan Wani and asked to explain why he was killed and what was his crime? Can any sane person justify this killing, asked Huriyat & said that there are many more such gory instances on record about innocents, fell to bullets.
Even political activists were made target by government forces and their relatives and families were subjected to vengeance, said Huriyat.
Huriyat while referring to people’s uprising in 2016 said that it is on record that during raids, brother was arrested for brother and son for father and later slapped PSA. Huriyat said that law enforcing executives blindly and randomly subject the families of innocent and peace loving citizens to reprisal and sharp cleavers of PSA and other draconian laws against them. Their relatives were thrashed, properties ransacked and even were seized by government forces, said Huriyat.Huriyat said that we have detailed reports about the properties that were sealed and seized by government forces, during people’s uprising.Giving details, Huriyat said that police arrested two sons of Gh Mohamad Tantrey (Behrampora) while as relatives of Ab Rehman Tantrey, (Baramulla) Master Ali Mohd (Hajan) Ab Rashid (Nowshara) Ab Subhan Wani, Showkat Ahmad Dar (Kulgam) Mohammad Amin Ahangar (Shopian) and Ab Gani Bhat (spore) were arrested slapped PSA and lodged in detention centres.Huriyat while referring to the DG’s statement said it is proper that we shoud not get families into this confrontation & it is also obligatory for police to act over this and let them make a point that don’t drag those persons who are not directly involved in any political or militant activities.(GNS)
