DDC chairs coordination committee meeting to finalize action plan for Aadhar seeding

District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, today chaired a special coordination committee meeting to finalize action plan for seeding of Mobile/Aadhar number in all saving accounts for digital payments.The meeting was attended by officers of concerned departments, LBM and Zonal Heads of banks and financial institutions operating in district Kathua.It was apprised in the meeting that about 90% of the pension account has been linked with adhaar and thrust is being laid on banking institutions and departments to coordinate for speeding up the process of Aadhar seeding. He also called upon Banks and BDO’s to educate people through their respective field staff to achieve 100% Aadhar seeding. He asked for installing banners at Aadhar seeding centres and information related to such centres at all prominent locations of the areas.DDC impressed upon the banks to launch a special campaign for educating people on Aadhar seeding and to enable digital payments to encourage cashless transactions. He directed BDO’s to further disseminate the message of Aadhar linkage and its importance and benefits by sensitizing MGNREGA job holders. He called for further strengthening the village extension committee for incentivizing Business Correspondents/ Customer Service Points to execute the task at an accelerated pace. He asked the District Social Welfare Officer to involve Anganwadi workers in spreading the message.
