Minister for Education, Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari Wednesday said that the present coalition Government is taking steps to ensure equitable development of all regions of the State and is actively pursuing expeditious completion of development projects for its overall development.The Minister was speaking at a District Development Board meeting of Baramulla today which he chaired in presence of Minister for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Bukhari, during which Rs 254.36 crore annual plan (2017-18) was approved for the district unanimously.Legislators, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Javaid Hassan Beigh, Mohammad Abbas Wani, Yawar Dilawar Mir, Muhammad Muzaffar Parray, G N Monga, Fayaz Ahmad, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Heads of the various Departments, Chief Engineers and other District Officers attended the meeting.The DDC, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, apprised the meeting about various developmental projects and schemes undergoing in the district. The meeting also took comprehensive review of the progress made in various projects and decisions of last Board Meeting, and took stock of physical and financial achievements registered in the district plan 2016-17.   The meeting was informed in detail about expenditure made by February 2017. The DDC also highlighted the socio-economic indicators of the district in terms of health care, education etc through Public-private partnership mode.

Speaking on the occasion, Altaf Bukhari emphasized the officers to ensure target oriented development by prioritizing and working upon core competencies of district Baramulla. He directed the concerned authorities to achieve the set targets under various sectors within the stipulated time.He directed the district administration that no stone should be left unturned in realizing the goals and targets envisaged in annual plan, so as to ensure maximum benefits to the people of the district. The Minister directed the District Development Commissioner to maintain close coordination with every Department and regularly monitor the progress of each development work for timely completion.On the occasion, the legislators apprised Altaf Bukhari, who is also Chairman of District Development Board (DDB) Baramulla, about various issued regarding their respective constituencies including upgradation of roads, augmentation of PHE schemes, education infrastructure, PDD, construction of community assets, regular supply of ration to the far-flung areas, re-survey for identification of left out BPL beneficiaries and various other issues of vital importance.
