DDC Bandipora reviews progress of RDD works

District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Sajad Hussain, today convened a meeting to review development works of Rural Development Department taken up under various schemes and flagship programmes in the district.The meeting held threadbare discussions on the execution of works under MGNERGA, PMAY, Convergence plans, Untied grants and 13th FCA, besides progress made under Swatch Bharat Mission was also reviewed.It was given out that during the year 2016-17 as many as 1420 development works were taken up at a cost of Rs 23.80 crore under MGNREGA, out of which 1211 works were completed by February 2017.Further, it was said that during the period 471518 mandays were generated, while as 30397 job cards were also issued under the scheme.Similarly, work on 18 flood protection bunds was taken up under 13th FCA (Convergence mode) on which an amount of Rs. 20.52 lakh stands expended, so far.The meeting was briefed that work is also in progress on 18 steel decked bridges being constructed under convergence plan in the district at a projected cost of Rs 65.91 lakh. On the occasion, the DDC stressed the officers to work with added zeal and pace up the work on all ongoing projects for their timely completion.Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Panchayat Officer, senior officials of the Department and other concerned attended the Meeting.
