Div Com convenes meeting to discuss issues related to Uri HEP Phase–II

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today convened a meeting to discuss various issues related to Uri Power Project Phase-II being executed by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Director Tourism Kashmir, Managing Director JKPCC, SDM Uri, officials of NHPC and other concerned attended the meeting.The meeting held threadbare discussions on various issues including the employment of 60 land oustees to be provided by the Corporation.On the occasion, the Div Com directed the officials of NHPC to provide compensation to other land oustees ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 (depending upon the land holding). He stressed the officials to adhere to compensation guidelines in letter and spirit.The Div Com also asked the officials to chalk out the modalities for compensation and directed the SDM Uri to furnish the report within 30 days.He also asked the executing agency (NHPC) to hire local work force so that it results in job creation and benefits local populace.
