DC launches Swachhta Pakhwada under SBM

In order to spread quintessential message of cleanliness and hygiene, Deputy Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, launched ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’; a fifteen day special campaign being conducted under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in the district here today.Under this campaign, first fifteen days i.e. from 1st to 15th March would be dedicated specially to the Women and Child Development Department wherein series of activities are planned to create awareness and educate people about the significance of cleanliness.The DC urged upon all the stakeholders to ensure collective efforts towards making this mission a big success.Exhorting upon the officers to maintain cleanliness in and around their office premises, the DC said that this campaign will be monitored on regular basis for effective outcum. He directed the officers of ICDS, Health and Rural Development Department to organize awareness camps for sensitizing people regarding creation of trash free environment besides encouraging them to use sanitation facilities.A cleanliness pledge was also administered to the officials so that they work earnestly and inspire others to clean their surroundings.The DC directed CEO, MC to install dustbins at all the vulnerable locations of Kathua town so that the objective of the campaign can be exploited to the maximum. ”This campaign will help citizens adopt good habits of keeping a clean environ,” Ramesh Kumar added.
