Oakridge International School conducted  Farm Fest on  its campus to give students  a taste of life on the farm. The school was converted into giant farm that included live animals, fresh fruits & vegetable stalls, farm equipment, bullock cart, sunflower fields, pumpkins, weaving baskets and everything else you get to see in a typical village farm. By bringing the farm alive  Oakridge School not only aimed to teach the students about the life at a farm but also the importance of Mother Nature. Life at a farm is not as easy as in town and teaches key attributes like sacrifice, sharing and caring to the people living there.Journey of Cotton was also displayed  where children experienced live spinning of the charka and saw how thread is created from cotton, live embroidery counters and the grinding of wheat seeds to make flour at the counter From the Farmland to the Table, were experiences that children will carry for all time.

Children wore traditional attire for the party. The children witnessed live pottery making and tried their hands in it to make a small pot, they experienced the spinning of the Charka and saw cotton changing into thread.Ramanjit Ghuman ,Principal Oakridge  School  said that this event  truly gave a farm experience to children and parent as well  .Fun learning activities and games were Experiential learning for the children and facilitating children to make connections with real life experiences .According to her experiential learning is a key part of the teaching methodology  even beyond the classroom methodology is  better for  learning experience. The bookish knowledge is never sufficient for a learner until they explore and research about a topic themselves.
