Inaugurates infrastructure development projects in education sector, Provides Rs 50 lakh for establishing tourist huts, guest houses at Basohli

Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Choudhary Lal Singh today said human resource development is essential for turning Jammu and Kashmir into a prosperous State.While taking a whirlwind tour to Basohli constituency, the Minister said education is vital and brings positive changes at the grassroots.“Education can only bring achay din to you,” Singh told gathering while touring Basohli. He urged students to take inspiration from the noted personalities of the State who have achieved this repute with education and hard work.The Minister said that Bani-Basohli has enormous tourism potential and for this Minister directed the Forest Department to develop huts, tourist guest houses at Sukrala Mata Shrine. He announced Rs 50 lakh for the development of the same.The Minister inaugurated additional accommodation created for Government High School Mannu and also inaugurated lanes at Panchayat Athoon, Mannu, constructed at the cost of Rs 5 lakh.  The Minister said besides government’s efforts and initiates, people should come forward to reform their areas. He said that a collective community initiative of like-minded people, irrespective of caste, creed and political affiliations for overall self-development must gain the momentum across s the State. The urged villagers to establish a village development centres at a common place for the overall development of the society from every child to the adults. He said that the main purpose of establishing the centre should be for the overall development and self-sustenance of people of all age groups in the village. He also called prominent people of the area to impart skill training like spoken English to improve communication skills, various dance forms, music, self-defense courses to the educated youth.Singh also called upon youth to participate in sports activities wholeheartedly and bring laurels to the State. He said there is no dearth of talent among the youth of the state, adding that need of the hour is to channelize it in the right direction.
