Abdul Ghani Kohli flags off farmers tour to Himachal Pradesh

Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohli today flagged off a tour of farmers who will be visiting Himachal Pradesh to get acquainted with the latest technology in Dairy & Poultry Farming.The visit is being conducted by the division of Extension Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Jammu under the ATMA Scheme.Interacting with the farmers, the Minister impressed upon them to interact fully with the scientists and researchers and get themselves equipped with the knowledge and latest technical know-how for increasing Dairy & Poultry Farming productivity. He said that the main aim of the tour was to acquaint the farmers with latest techniques, methods and machinery for increasing work efficiency, saving time and money through improved practices being adopted.The Minister said that the Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to upgrade the living standard of the farming community of the State. He stressed on organizing such visits for farmers to acquaint them with latest agricultural techniques.Director Animal Husbandry Dr. S. K. Abrol said the exposure to the farmers through such initiatives will surely help them in increasing their productivity and earning good profit.
