The Punjab unit of the Bhartiya Janata Party today slammed the Aam Aadmi Party for harbouring criminals and militants in the state. Taking a strong exception to the arrest of Nabha jailbreak mastermind Gurpreet Singh Sekhon from an AAP activist’s house, state President Vijay Sampla, “The Aam Aadmi Party is sheltering criminals and militants in Punjab. This is evident from the arrest of Gurpreet Singh Sekhon from NRI Goldy Gill’s house in Moga. Goldy campaigned for AAP during the Punjab Assembly polls and was present in many rallies of the party. When the jailbreak took place, the AAP had accused the SAD-BJP combine of connivance with the criminals. Now the BJP would like to ask Arvind Kejriwal why is he silent over the arrest of Sekhon from his party worker’s house? Shouldn’t we consider him to be hands in gloves with the criminals?”

Coming down heavily on AAP, Sampla said, “This is not the very first instance which exposes AAP’s radical mindset. Earlier, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal stayed in the house of Khalistan Liberation Front (KLF) activist Gurwinder Singh during his Punjab visit. He had also tried to fuel unrest in the state and radicalise the youth by citculating posters wherein he put his photo alongside slain Sikh militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and had asked people to bring ‘inqulab’ in the state”.Sampla further said, “Not only this, AAP even fielded candidates with a dubious, terrorist background. The party’s candidate from Talwandi Sabo, Baljinder Kaur is a hardliner whose uncle, Pala Singh was a prominent militant leader and was shot down in a police encounter. More than 24 police personnel got killed during this encounter. Her father Darshan Singh served 7 years of Jail in a TADA case.Sampla said, “The AAP simply wants to disrupt the law and order situation in the state. It is encouraging criminals and radicals to further its agenda. Such actions will only push the state back to the Dark Age. The anarchy Kejriwal is trying to spread is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the people of Punjab”.
