Upgradation of Highway: DC Ramban reviews progress on shifting of utilities

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz today convened a meeting of Revenue officers, engineers and representatives of construction agencies working on four-laning project of NH-1A from Nashri to Jawahar Tunnel for smooth shifting of public utilities.The meeting was attended by   ADC, Angrez Singh Rana, Regional Officer (RO) NHAI Jammu, Hem Raj, Xen, TLMD-III Udhampur and representatives of the companies Navayuga, Ramky, IL&FS, HCC, GAMMON India, NHAI besides other officers.Taking into account importance of the prestigious four lane work, DC assured the companies, engaged on job, for removing all bottlenecks in construction of National Highway.DC also reviewed the progress of shifting of HT Towers and other utilities including their reinstallation and developing suitable environment for construction work. Several related issues were also resolved on the spot.RO, NHAI was asked to ensure start of protection work on the sites of unsafe towers due to earth cutting and shifting of transmission line’s towers on priority basis so that execution work of four laning project is not delayed.Keeping in view prevailing conditions of weather, DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure smooth passage of the traffic by maintaining potholes and drainage besides ensuring proper maintenance of NH1A at all crucial places from Patnitop to Jawahar tunnel.
