DC Kulgam chairs Tribal Sub Plan meeting

Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today chaired a Tribal Sub-Plan meeting to review progress of various developmental activities aimed at developing infrastructure in schedule tribe habitations of the district.  Threadbare discussions were held on issues pertaining to the development of Naagrus, Panjgam Nard of Kund area and Hallan of Manzgam under Tribal Sab Plan 2017-18 as model villages replete with all the required facilities.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of line Departments to submit a detailed proposed plan as per the needs of these areas.  Pertinently, under Tribal Sub-Plan the Government is going to spend Rs 10 crore in first phase for each model village in every district.The meeting was further informed that the district administration has already identified three tribal villages Kutamarg, Kund and Tangmarg which shall be developed as per their potential areas.During the meeting, it was also said that an expenditure of Rs 10.5 crore have been made on the upcoming Eikhlawiya Model School Tangmarg.Additional Deputy Commissioner, ACD, CEO, CAO, Xens of PDD, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Representatives of tribal population and other concerned attended the meeting.
