DC Shopian reviews snow clearance, supply position of essentials

Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, today visited Zainapora town to take on spot review of availability of essentials including supply of drinking water, power supply and healthcare facilities post heavy snowfall in the district.The Deputy Commissioner was informed that officials of Mechanical Engineering Department have cleared snow from most of main roads and link roads have been cleared by the R&B Department.On the occasion, the DC directed Xens of PHE and PDD to ensure supply of safe drinking water and electricity so that people don’t face inconvenience in this harsh weather. He also visited many government offices to take stock of their functioning.Later, the Deputy Commissioner along with SDM Zainapora and ACR visited Sub District Hospital Zainapora during which he reviewed health care facilities being provided to patients there.He directed the concerned to ensure proper heating arrangements, free medicines and other necessary facilities at the health institute to facilitate better treatment of patients.During the visit, he also met many public delegations and listened to their grievances and assured timely redressal of the same.
