23 KM road macadamized in Sonawari : Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura

Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Hanjura today informed the Legislative Council that 23.25 Kilometer road has been macadamized in Sonawari constituency of Bandipora district since 2015-16 till date.Replying to a question by Yasir Reshi , the Minister, on behalf of Minister for R&B , also informed that state has recommended  107 road projects for funding under NABARD in the state during 2016-17 and 2017-18 which included two projects for Sonawari constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 4.90 crore.

Giving details, the Minister said the two projects include up-gradation of road from Gulshanpora Markundal up to Ali Check Maidan Mohalla including allied links of Gulshanpora and Pushwari at the cost of Rs 2.90 crore and up-gradation of link roads of Gunchipora, Nowgam and Zalipora Bandipora at a cost of Rs 2 crore.The Minister further stated that the construction of Steel Trussed Foot Bridge at river Jhelum at Sumbal has been taken up   at an estimated cost of Rs 4.14 crore under Special Programme.  " Till the end of last financial year    an amount of Rs 55 lakh has been utilized on the construction and Rs 15 lakh have been earmarked for the said bridge  during the current financial year, of which, Rs 7.50 lakh have been released" the Minister informed. He said due to resource constraints, the progress on the said bridge is slow and is likely to be completed during 2018-19.
