Priya Sethi attends Shraman Sanskrti Manch's event

Says women contributing immensely in every sphere of life

Appreciating uniqueness of the multicultural society of the state, Minister of State for Tourism, Education, Technical Education, Culture, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi said that this composite culture is bedrock of the land known for mutual coexistence. She said people from diverse faiths and religions have lived together and have contributed in development of the state.The Minister was speaking at an event organized to mark the over 35 year’s long glorious journey of Shraman Sanaskrti Manch at Police Auditorium here.Lauding the role of females, Priya said that with changing times the role of women in society has multiplied and they are performing the assigned roles with utmost dedication. From managing home, the role of females has grown multitudes and now big multinationals are being run by womenfolk, she added.Highlighting the role of Jainism in promoting Ahimsa or non-violence, Priya praised one of the ancient religions of India which recognizes the rights of all living creatures.She said the approach of Jain religion towards woman is based on the concept of equality, adding that the liberation and advancement of women are integrated in the religion.

While appreciating the role of Shraman Sanskrti Manch the Minister said that it is a unique platform of ladies from the Jain community that is actively involved in various social and cultural activities in the region.Priya also highlighted that special focus has been laid by the central government on the cause of the women and program of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, welfare measures for expecting mothers along with other welfare schemes are also being implemented.President S.S. Jain Sabha Jammu Raj Kumar Jain and President Jain Istri Sabha, Jammu Neelam Jain were the Guests of honour.Earlier the General Secretary Shilpy Jain welcomed the Guests. The program started with Mangal Prayer, an item Guldasta was staged where the culture of our J&K State and all religious were showcased. Ex- Presidents of the organization Sushma Oswal, Vippy Jain, Prabha Jain, Kanchan Mala, Gola Jain, Savita Jain along with present members of the Manch were honored by the Minister.President of Manch Savita Jain highlighted the activities performed during the year and Reena Jain Secretary presented vote of thanks.
