DDC Baramulla finalizes IPPI arrangements

District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Nassir Ahmad Naqash, today chaired a meeting of District Task Force to finalize arrangements for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) campaign in the district.Additional SP, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Medical Superintendent District Hospital, District immunization Officer, President Baramulla Working journalist Association, DMEIO, Representatives of NGOs and other concerned attended the meeting.The meeting finalized arrangements for the anti-polio campaign to be held on January29 in the district. It was given out that under the Round-1 of IPPI Programme as many as 154879 children below 5 years of age will be immunized, for which 776 vaccination booths have been set up across the ten blocks of the district.

For effective and smooth conduct of the campaign, 786 teams comprising 3259 Health workers, ASHA workers, ICDS workers, and teachers will be deployed across the district. Besides, mobile teams for transit camps and bus stands have also been constituted.It was also informed that Masjid Committees will also be involved for purpose of announcements regarding the pulse polio campaign.While stressing on coordination for successful anti-polio campaign, the DDC directed the officers to ensure that no children below 5 years of age is left out of the programme.
