Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, FCSCA, Tribal Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation and Labour & Employment, Ajay Nanda unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the parade at Mini Stadium Reasi from the contingents comprising CRPF, District Police, Police Training Centre, NCC and tiny platoons from various Government and Private schools.District Development Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar, SSP Reasi, ADC Reasi and other district heads, civil and police officers, prominent citizens, students, women and children were present on the occasion.Addressing the gathering, Nanda underscored the importance of this historical day on which India turned into a Sovereign Democratic Republic, one of the best systems of governance prevailing in the world, adding that it was on this day in 1950 that the constitution of India came into existence which provides equal rights of justice and development to all the citizens of the country irrespective of religion, caste, creed and colour.

He highlighted the achievements of district Reasi and said that during the current year 50 km roads have been blacktopped, four roads of PMGSY completed, over 6000 toilets constructed, 9 Panchayats made open defection free, several internal lanes and drains raised, LT/HT works strengthened and many other new development works are going on in the district covering all remotest areas.The Minister also enlisted number of schemes of the State and Centre which are improving the condition of poor and marginalized sections of our society. He further threw light on other development activities like upgradation of infrastructure for district hospital, auditorium with modern facilities at Reasi, upgradation of dental section, functioning of new OPD block, AMT school, critical care ambulance and opening of many educational and health institutions in the district.A colorful cultural programme was also presented amid downpour by the students of government and private educational institutions which enthralled the audience.Later prizes were distributed by the chief guest among the participants.
