Sham Choudhary unfurls tricolor, enumerates Govt’s welfare schemes

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary unfurled the national flag on 68th Republic Day at District Police Lines in Ramban.The Minister took salute at the march past from the contingents of police, paramilitary forces, NCC cadets and school children.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister enumerated the developmental activities undertaken by the government in the area.He said government has initiated various welfare schemes for uplift of women, elderly and children including housing for all under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, cash assistance for pregnant women, financial assistance for youth and entrepreneurs besides several other flagship schemes. He said Rs 120 crore district plan has been approved for year 2016-17 for overall development of Ramban and 72% expenditure has been registered under the plan. He informed that 40 roads have been constructed under PMGSY and 22 new transformers have been installed by the PDD.Later, prizes were distributed among the participants of parade by the chief guest, Sham Lal Choudhary, DDC Ramban Mohammad Aijaz, Commander11–Sector and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar. The students and officials   were also awarded for their distinguished services in their respective fields.At the headquarters of Banihal, Ramsu and Gool Sub-Divisions and Tehsils of Ramban district, the SDMs and the Tehsildars/Naib-Tehsildars unfurled the national flag and took salute at the march past.
