Bali Baghat calls for maintaining peace to usher JK into new era of prosperity

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Baghat unfurled the national flag and took salute on the Republic Day march past at Sports Stadium Poonch today.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Constitution of India is inclusive aimed at maintaining communal harmony and unity in diversity of the nation.The Minister lauded the role of the paramilitary forces and the police, who, he said are making sacrifices to maintain peace and uphold the sovereignty and integrity of the country. He remembered the sacrifice of Rajinder Sharma, a cop of J&K Police who laid down his life while fighting for the nation in Poonch.The Minister called for mounting surveillance along the borders and maintaining peace within the mainland to foil the nefarious designs of the enemy aimed at subverting the peace and development in the State.He said the government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has achieved various milestones in development and tangible infrastructure is being created across the length and breadth of the State. Highlighting the major achievements of Health and Medical Education Department, the said that under RBSK scheme, 12 doctors are working in schools where 30000 Boys and Girls have been screened this year and operation of 5 heart patients performed under NRHM. He said 91% deliveries have been ensured in the District Hospital Poonch where free medicines, transportation and diet are provided.  

He said new PHC buildings at Plera, Sathra, Bedar and Khari Karmara in district Poonch have been completed. He said the blood bank has been made functional and 6.95 lakh outdoor patients treated in 181 health institutions in district. The ambulances for remote and border PHCs at Behrooti, Ajote, Mankote nd Fazlabad shall be provided within one month, he said.Under PWD (R&B) sector, he said, 104 KM roads have been macadamized, 40 km border road have also been  macadamized, 30 Km  fair weather roads constructed, 5 bridges, 3 foot bridges and 159 villages have been connected with roads.Under MGNERGA, he said, 77158 new job cards have been issued, 19.41 lakh man-days generated and 13273 works are in progress.Earlier, 36 contingents of police, NCC and school children participated in the march past. Colorful cultural program was also presented on the occasion by the school children who were awarded mementos and cash prize by the Minister.Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council Jahangir Hussain Mir, Ex Legislators of the district, District Development Commissioner Poonch, Judges, Brigade Commander 93 Infantry, prominent citizens and large number of children participated in the function.Similar functions were organized at sub–divisional and tehsil levels where Teshildars and SDMs took salute on the march past. Cultural programs were also presented.
