Universal Group of Institutions observed National Girl Child Day  to spread the word to save the girl child, save the future & son-daughter are equal. Additionally, the events and activities of the Day  were focused   on the education, recreation, health, cultural, economic and social needs of children. Slogan writing competition was organized on the topic to save girl child.While speaking at the moment  Dr.Gurpreet Singh, Chairman, UGI said  that the main reason to celebrate national girl child day was to propagate the gender equality and remove all the inequalities faced by the girl children of the Indian society. According to him saving the girl child is not the sole responsibility of the government but of the whole society. There is an urgent need for both the government and the society to come forward and work together for this campaign. Any type of imbalance in society proves fatal. He further added that Female foeticide is not only a crime against law, but also a stigma on humanity.
