R-Day arrangements finalized in Anantnag

The arrangements for Republic Day celebration in Anantnag district were finalized in a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, here today.The meeting was attended by all sectoral officers, besides officers of Police and other concerned.The Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned to put in place concrete mechanism to ensure smooth and peaceful celebration of the function. He stressed on all sectoral officers to ensure their presence and active participation in the function.The meeting was informed that, the main function shall be held at Government Degree College Boys, Khanabal, besides the Republic Day functions shall also be celebrated at sub-divisions and Tehsil headquarters. The contingents of school children, J&K Police, IPR, CRPF, Fire & Emergency, Home-guard and NCC will participate in the march past.On the occasion, the Executive Officer MC, Anantnag was directed to ensure all arrangements in view of the inclement weather forecast. The Chief Medical Officer was directed to deploy two ambulances along with medical and paramedical staff at the venue on the day.Meanwhile, Tehsildar headquarter was designated nodal officer who will look after the arrangements for rehearsal function to be held on January 24.The meeting was attended by SSP Anantnag, Principal Government Degree College Khanabal, Programme Officer ICDS, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Exens of R&B, PHE and PDD, SDMs of Pahalgam, Dooru and Verinag, Chief Education Officer, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Department, ACD, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, all Tehsildars, ARTO, DSWO, AD FCS&CA, CEO MC Anantnag, DSP Traffic and Depot Manager SRTC.
