Er Rasheed asks Government not to settle WP Refugees in a disputed territory

In Assembly on Tuesday while appealing Kashmiri Pandits to return back to their ancestral places AIP president and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed reiterated that separate colonies for Kashmir Pandits will not be allowed and New Delhi should stop politicizing return of Kashmir Pandits.Speaking over grants on relief and rehabilitation in the Legislative Assembly, Er. Rasheed also asked New Delhi not to force Mehbooba Mufti to grant any sort of rights to West Pakistani Refugees in the disputed territory.In his speech Er. Rasheed said, “New Delhi must settle the Refugees either in any other state or must talk to Govt. of Pakistan to take its citizens back, as Pakistan is bound to take care of its citizens. Let Pakistani Govt. make an unconditional offer to the families to come back to their ancestral places and must give them genuine incentives for rehabilitation”. Er. Rasheed offered all sought of assistance on behalf of majority community to Kashmiri Pandits who want to return to their original places and added that we will even provide free land to landless migrant families. However Kashmiri Pandits will have to make a choice between getting packages and jobs from the Govt. or retuning back to their mother land. He also sought evacuation of non state subject hailing from other states at Jammu & other places and said that Govt. has ignored the border migrants of Karen, Machil, Uri, Karnah, Poonch and Rajouri. Er. Rasheed asked Govt. why it has forgotten thousands of Jail returns and those who were persuaded to return via Nepal.Amid heated arguments Er. Rasheed lashed out at main political parties and reminded them about the fate of resettlement will passed in 1982 by the Assembly. He said that those worried about WP Refugees should answer that why New Delhi disgraced the Assembly by sabotaging the historic resettlement Bill, which provided honourable return and resettlement of all migrants who were forced to leave state in 1947. He said that by advocating for WP refugees and forgetting its own Bill and native citizens of the state all the main political parties stand badly exposed. (CNS)
