In the assembly MLA Langate Er. Rasheed forced Finance Minister Dr. Hasib Drabu to apologise for his ‘insulting’ remarks to the representative of Fruit Growers who had met him in connection with their demands at Srinagar some time back.As soon as Dr. Drabu got up to speak over discussion on grants on General Budget, Er. Rasheed disrupted his speech and asked him to apologise for unacceptable and insulting remarks, which he had attributed to representative of fruit growers, by saying that fruit growers take Kissan Credit Loans to have their daughters married.Rasheed reminded Drabu that he should not forget that he is the finance Minister of the state and people have every right to put forward their grievances. After arguments and counter arguments Dr. Drabu tendered an unconditional apology and withdrew his remarks on fruit growers. Er. Rasheed also condemned the brutal shelling by Security Forces inside Bijbahara Hospital, which left several including journalists injured. (CNS)
