Sham Lal Choudhary exhorts teachers to focus on quality, moral education

Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today exhorted upon the teaching fraternity to focus on providing quality education coupled with high moral values to the students enabling them face all impending challenges of today’s contemporary world.The Minister was speaking at the annual day function of Pragmatic Institute of Education, Miran Sahib at Abhinav Theatre, here today.While addressing the gathering, the Minister said the students have to go through a tough competitive process for making their career in any field. The students should be trained for these examinations right from the beginning so that they stand out in these competitions and leave a mark in the field of their choice, he added.

He further said the government is taking one step after the other for improving the quality of education in the state and special emphasis is being laid on educating the girl child.Stressing that games and sports are the best option for keeping both body and mind fit, the Minister said initiatives should be taken by all public and private schools for organizing sports competitions at regular intervals. Focus should also be laid on holding debate competitions, seminars, declamation contests, painting competitions, symposiums and other co-curricular activities, he added.MLC Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, former State Information Commissioner, Prof Sudesh Kumar Sharma, IGP (Retd) Dr Kamal Saini, former Special Secretary, TR Sharma, Principal of School DK Kotwal and Director of School, Rameshwar Singh Manhas were also present on the occasion.
