Div Com for regulating private coaching centres in Kashmir

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today called for regulation of private coaching centres operating in Kashmir division. He said this while chairing a meeting here which was attended by DIG Central Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Director Education Kashmir and Deputy Commissioner of all Valley districts thorough video conferencing.The Div Com directed for regulating private coaching centres through fresh registration applications, which will be scrutinized by the Education Department.It was given out that committees comprising Chief Education Officers and other district administration officers shall inspect coaching centres in their respective districts to verify whether the conditions laid down by the Government for operating a coaching centre are fulfilled.The Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned to initiate action against those coaching centres who fail to approach the Department within next seven days.He also directed for installation of CCTV cameras at coaching centre clusters as well as deployment of a police personal each for a coaching centre.Baseer Khan also called for regulating timings of the coaching centres in winters and proper heating arrangements and separate toilets for girls and boys at these centres. He directed for implementation of provision of free education to 10 percent of the students from BPL families by the coaching centres. On the occasion, the Div Com sought details about operation of winter schooling in schools identified by the Government.
