No daily wager engaged in Gujjar, Bakerwal hostels : Ajay Nanda

The Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, FCS&CA, Tribal Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation and Labour & Employment, Ajay Nanda today said that no daily rated worker have been engaged in Gujjar and Bakerwal hostels in the state as reported to the finance department.Replying to the query regarding delay in regularization of daily rated workers in various departments including, PDD, PWD, PHE, the Minister said that policy enshrined in SRO-64 of 1994 dated 24-03-1994 for regularization of daily rated workers/work charged employees engaged prior to cut off date i.e 31.01.1994 is already in place from the date of issuance of the SRO.He further informed that up to ending 2016, 57403 posts of helpers have been created for regularization of as much number of daily rated workers across the departments. There is still a balance of 2501 DRWs out of 59904 DRWs reported to the finance department pending regularization for want of proposals/clarifications from the concerned departments.The Minister was replying to a question raised by MLA Chowdhary Qamar Hussain.
