Road Safety Week 2017, RTO Kathua goes cashless, PoS installed to facilitate public

Awareness regarding road safety rules, inauguration of Point of Sale (POS) and bikers rally marked the start of 28thRoad Safety Week celebrations at Kathua..On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Bharat Bhushan flagged off a rally of bikers comprising Traffic Police Personnels, volunteers of NCC and NSS, College students and general public from RTO Office.DC Commercial Taxes Lakhanpur Puneet Sharma, PO ICDS Rajinder Singh,  CEO LSDA Sudershan Kumar, CEO Kathua, CMO Kathua, Tehsildar, ARTO Kathua, SHO Lakhanpur and DTI Lakhanpur were also present on the occasion.RTO Kathua Amarjeet Singh informed that a slew of activities including exhibitions, Nukkad Natak ,Symposium, Medical  checkup camps for commercial Drivers ,Workshop for drivers/helpers of school buses besides awareness programmes regarding driving etiquettes, road safety rules and guidelines for obtaining various services and documents from the department shall be organized during the week long campaign.He also highlighted various reforms undertaken by Regional Transport Office Kathua, including registration of vehicles, issuance of Driving License online by next month.A Point of Sale (POS) machine was inaugurated by ADC Kathua to facilitate cashless transaction. One POS will be kept at Lakhanpur check post where the entry tax and fines can be paid through credit/debt cards while other will be used at RTO office Kathua for payment of fees for availing various services. Even fines can also be paid through online transaction.‘Road Safety Express’ highlighting the importance of road safety will move all around the city during the week.
