Empanelment of Online News Agencies: DIPR extends date for suggestions

Following the persistent demand by the stakeholders, the Department of Information & Public Relations has extended the date for submission of suggestions/views regarding framing of guidelines/benchmarks for empanelment of the Online News Agencies by the Department for monthly subscription.According to Director Information, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, the stakeholders can now send their suggestions/views upto 15 January 2017. “The suggestions/views can be mailed at dirin17jk@gmail.com,” he said.According to Dr Shahid formulation of guidelines for empanelment of online news agencies has become imperative as a large number of such News Agencies have come up in the state over a period of time and are regularly approaching the Department of Information for monthly subscription.He said the stakeholders including individuals/organizations/media-persons and others can mail their suggestions/views, to the Department of Information, outlining the mechanism to be put in place by the Government for registration/operation/subscription of the Online News Agencies.
