Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today informed the house that 61 Industrial Estates have been established in the state till date, of which 50 are functional and 11 are being developed.Replying to a question by Mr Mohammad Muzaffar Parray in the upper house, the Minister said that during last two years raw material worth Rs 967.80 Cr was provided to SSI Units in the state.The Minister said that Rs 40.86 Cr VAT has been reimbursed to SSI units during this period.Giving further details, the minister informed the house that at present 9 industrial estates in the state are being maintained by SICOP, wherein 1400 SSI units have been allotted land  adding that all the basic infrastructure facilities like power , roads, drainage and water supply is being provided round the clock to these units.The Minister further informed that Industrial Estate Vessu in Anantnag, spread over to 250 Kanals of land, has also been developed in all respects and is ready for allotment to the SSI Units.

The Minister informed that 20 products being manufactured by the SSI units in the state  including BA Wire, Barbed wire, MS Angle, Tor Steel, Chain link fencing, PCC Fence posts, Steel & Wooden furniture, HD Molded Water Storage tanks, Steel Door/ Window Frames and shutters, Wall-to-Wall carpets, Steel Fabrication items, wooden joinery items sheet metal items, RCC Hume, electrical appliances, PVC cables, Lead Acid automobile batteries , plastic molded furniture and rigid PVC pipes  have been identified for purchase by the government departments/PSUs/ Organizations exclusively through SICOP. He said the end products of 900 SSI units valuing Rs 166.65 Cr have been marketed by the SICOP ending December in the current fiscal.

The Minister said that SICOP has registered a marketing turn-over of Rs 502 Cr during last two fiscals.Govt to consider inclusion of more areas in Municipal limits: Syed Farooq Andrabi Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today informed the upper house that at present there is no proposal under the consideration of Jammu Municipal Corporation for inclusion of Bhour Camp, Chatta, Gole Gujral Camp, Bandhurakh, Bathindi and Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar areas in the limits of Municipal Corporation Jammu.Replying to a question by S Charanjeet Singh in the upper house, the Minister said as and when any proposal or demand in this regard is received from Revenue authorities/residents of these localities, the same would be submitted to the government for consideration.The Minister further informed that JMC/concerned Municipal bodies on public demand have asked the Revenue authorities to conduct survey and submit details with regard to Khasra Nos/ Revenue Village and area to be included in the limits of Municipal Corporations /Municipal bodies.Andrabi further informed that only areas adjoining the municipal limits are considered for inclusion in the Municipality/ Municipal body.Legislators Ramesh Arora, Yasir Reshi, Sofi Yousuf, Saif-ud-Din Bhat raised supplementary questions and demanded inclusion of more areas under Municipal limits in their respective constituencies. They also sought appropriate steps for up-grading the civic amenities in Municipal areas.
