The delay in announcement of his Jalalabad seat by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal is not without a purpose and the reasons put forward by the latter for not announcing the name of his seat are illogical and merely delaying tactics to strike a deal with PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh to secure his seat.AAP Punjab Convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich and party’s campaign committee in charge MP Bhagwatn Mann in a joint statement here today claimed that Sukhbir Badal was not feeling secure to contest from his home constituency Jalalabad and fearing strong backlash of Rai Sikh community which is grossly annoyed with the Badal family. The AAP leaders said that Sukhbir Badal had ‘secretly approached’ PPCC President Capt Amarinder Singh and according to reliable sources, he (Sukhbir) is literally on his knees to seek change the constituency of  Davinder Singh Ghubaya son of SAD MP Sher Singh Ghuabaya fielded by Congress from Jalalabad. “It has come to our notice that Sukhbir Badal wants to shift Davinder Singh Ghubaya from Jalabad to Fazilika”, they added.

Wariach and Maan stated that Sukhbir Badal was not sure to win from Jalalabad in the given political circumstances from where AAP has thrown a challenge to Badal family. The AAP leaders said that Sukhbir Badal had initially tried to arm twist Ghubaya by conducting vigilance raid on the college run by Ghubaya’s family. Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal even humiliated Sher Singh Ghubaya by asking him to leave the party if he was not getting respect and described him"thankless person".AAP leaders said that Rai Sikhs which are in majority in the Jalalabad constituency would never vote for Badals after Sher Singh Ghubaya had announced that he would campaign for SAD.  AAP leaders said that politically powerful Rai Sikh community had strong presence in Jalalabad and feel betrayed by SAD. "In wake of public anger against SAD-BJP government and particularly the Badal family Sukhbir Badal has valid apprehensions that he would face definite defeat in Jalalabad. The Rai Sikhs have extended support to  AAP since they would also not vote for Congress party due to its anti-Sikh credentials" Waraich and Mann commented.AAP leaders once again challenged Sukhbir Badal to contest from Jalalabad and not to run after Capt Amarinder Singh to political patronage. “If Congress commits this blunder, it would endorse the AAP stand that Capt Amarinder Singh and Sukhbir Badal are fighting assembly election in collusion with each other against AAP”, they said.
